There were increased numbers on offer this week with a flying trade for all classes with a good demand for stock resulting in a high percentage clearance of lots. There was a brisk trade for Bullocks with averages of €2.34 per kilo up to €3.02 per kilo. There was a lively trade for Heifers with average prices ranging from €2.44 per kilo to up €2.96 per kilo. Dry Cows averaged ranged from €1.75 per kilo up to €2.05 per kilo. Weanling Heifers averaged from €2.75 per kilo up to €3.18 per kilo. Weanlings Bull fetched from €2.73 per kilo up to €3.38 per kilo. –Please note the following: New Health & Safety Rules: Fridays Yard opens at 8.30 a.m. Only Mart Staff will be allowed into the sales yard from 8.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. All Stock must be penned by 10 a.m. The Draw for the starting pens will take place at 9.50 a.m. Yard will open to allow Stock to be viewed by Purchasers from 10.30 a.m. to 11 a.m. sharp. After 11 a.m. The yard will be closed again to the public except for Staff Only. Cattle that are not penned by 10 a.m. will have to wait to be penned until after the viewing period is over.
Sellers who do not have their cattle penned by the time they come up for sale will have to wait until the end to have their stock sold.
